REMco produces a special series of crushers which are designated as VSG and VS/4G. These machines are more accurately defined as high-speed grinders, hence the designation ‘G’ to set them apart from the normal VSI design. This series is typically applied for the production of a wide variety of fine industrial minerals products. For example, these machines operate in the refractory industry, recycling industry, silica production, fused alumina grinding and other severe service. One area of very specific application is the REMco Model VS/4G. This grinder has been extensively developed and it has achieved great success in the roofing granules industry where they have been proven to be more productive and replace the traditional roll crushers.

The VSG and VS/4G are available in sizes utilizing drive powers from 30 hp to 300 hp and are fully autogenous designs with special chambers to handle the unique nature of industrial minerals and man-made materials. Their production range is in handling materials from feed sizes of 1 1/2” (40 mm) and smaller, and to produce products as small as 30 mesh (26 mm). Their typical mode of operation is in closed circuit with a mechanical sizer or air separator.
